a great representation of the most current incarnation of CF & Organic Groove
Ensemble. The meaning of “Organic” in the bands’ name comes from the
prominence of the Hammond B3 Organ in the music, and “Groove” stands for
some funky rhythms that lay in the pocket."}

^{"This session was
originally meant to be a 4-tune demo to get some work for the band, but then I
felt that the vibe of the first session was so good that I booked another
5-hour block to finish additional tracks. We started to rehearse in 2001 in a
music school basement in lower Manhattan called 4th Street Music School, and
not long after the first rehearsal I started booking gigs with the band. Those
gigs were a great proving ground to see what worked and what didn’t. "}
